Day Camps

There are several Jewish day camps offered in our area. The list below includes some of the programs that specifically provide opportunities for children/teens with special needs. 

Allie's Camp

Allie's Camp is a week long program held twice a year, during winter break and again at the end of the summer vacation, featuring a variety of activities, games and sports, as well as exciting field trips. A group of dedicated volunteers will be there to assist the children throughout the day.

Camp Friends provides children with special needs an opportunity to actively participate in summer camp along with their typically developing peers. Each child has a 1:1 shadow counselor to support the camper throughout the day. 

Camp Yachad at Central Jersey JCC

Whenever possible, Camp Yachad serves children with disabilities alongside their neighbors and friends. Special needs camp group space is limited, campers are accommodated on a first-come, first-served basis.

JCC MetroWest provides a large number of both inclusive and self-contained camp programs at their West Orange facility and at Camp Deeny Riback.

Jewish Vocational Service of MetroWest

JVS provides a Career Camp for teens with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Career Camp will provide teens the opportunity to engage in vocational activities designed to simulate job tasks and give hands-on experience developing a variety of different work skills.

Overnight Camps

There are a great number of Jewish overnight camps serving our area. The list below includes some of the programs that specifically provide opportunities for children/teens with special needs. Your child may be eligible for a $1,000 incentive grant for camp if it will be your child's first time at Jewish overnight camp for 19 days or more. Camp HASC

Camp HASC provides a self-contained camping experience for children with cognitive and physical disabilities for seven weeks in the summer. Camp HASC includes academic, therapeutic and recreational programming for all campers, allowing them to continue their services from the school year.
